Paint and Hike Experiences and classes
Contact me if your group would like to arrange a paint and hike experience. Usually I teach an observational drawing lesson, show some watercolor techniques, and lead the group in observing nature. Details can be adjusted to meet the needs of the group. I encourage everyone to notice how they are experiencing nature and express that in their artmaking.
Listed below are some of the organizations I have worked with.

Aefintyr Campground Memorial Weekend 2025
Aefintyr campground is in Elba, Minnesota which is close to Whitewater State Park and Carley State Park. Check out their website for details. I was there Memorial Weekend, 2025. Each morning and evening I led outdoor drawing and painting opportunities. Mindfulness sessions were offered in the mornings as well. I enjoyed providing these drop-in opportunities as part of the glamping experience.

Watermark art center
Watermark Art Center is in Bemidji, Minnesota. I taught a class in June of 2024 called “Watercolor in Nature”. They offer a wide range of classes for all ages.

CSGA Enrichment
CSGA Enrichment offers classes for youth in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. I co-taught an art studio class in Edina in June of 2024. They also offer a two-week day camp at Hill-Murray school in June. More information in the link below.

Rattle Magazine
Rattle Magazine selected my painting, “Forage: Thistle” for their Ekphrastic Challenge for August 2024.
They selected 24 poems out of the hundreds that were submitted and asked me to select one for the artist’s choice award. I chose “Brushscape” by Samuel Ertelt. You can read the poem and my comments about it at rattle.com.
Every month they select a different image to inspire poets. More details at Rattle.com
