Snail Lake Regional Park: Grass Lake
Today was weather perfection for walking outside: not hot, not cold, and partly cloudy. Some might complain of the humidity, but not I. This day it is up to me to decide how to use these 24 hours. I’m hiking and I’m painting. (and I’m blogging, apparently)

Dallas, Oregon
s the weather always perfect in Oregon? As a Minnesotan, I am obsessed with the weather because it is ever-changing and has a huge impact on my daily activities. All four days of this trip had temperatures in the 70’s, partly to mostly sunny, low humidity, and a cool breeze. My complaining instinct went dormant.

Suomi Hills, Minnesota
The full name is Suomi Hills Semiprimitive Nonmotorized Area. It is part of Chippewa National Forest. There are two trailheads about 5 miles apart on Highway 38 north of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. McCarthy Beach State Park
Minnesota’s best beach, 18 miles of trails, and four lakes. This is one of my favorite state parks. I threw in some kayaking photos at the end just for fun.
